βNow bring me someone who can play the harp.β
While the harp was being played, the power of the LORD came upon Elisha.
2 Kings 3:15
In 2 Kings 3, the armies of Judah, Israel, and Edom marched through the desert for seven days to attack the Moabites. Suddenly, they ran out of water completely.
Desperate and unsure of what to do, they sought the prophet Elisha to ask what God wanted them to do. However, Elisha was reluctant to help because of the presence of the evil king of Israel.
He was annoyed and angered but agreed to do it because of his friend King Jehoshaphat.
Recognizing that his irritation and upset state hindered his connection with God, Elisha requested a harpist. He needed to change the atmosphere. As the harp played, God's power descended upon Elisha, enabling him to prophesy the answer.
It's amazing what God will do when you create the right atmosphere. Worry, doubt, and frustration can cloud our vision of God's goodness. Like Elisha, we should "bring in the harp"βturn up the praise. Create an atmosphere of faith, hope, and expectancy. This is what invites God's presence.
"Father, thank You for being the Most High God. Your power can turn impossible circumstances around and bring an abundance of favor."
Thank You that I walk by faith, not by sight. I will keep believing, keep praising, and keep looking to You.
In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christβgrace, praise, hallelujah, and amen.. ππΏππΏππΏππΏππΏππΏππΏππΏ
